Hollow Lantern

★★★★★ 4.7 Editor rating

Hollow Lantern is quiet and atmospheric, the sort of game you play with headphones on late at night. You wander an abandoned town holding a lantern that reveals hidden paths and puzzles, slowly piecing together what happened to the place.

There's no combat and no timer. Progress comes from noticing details — a symbol on a door, a sound down a corridor — and the game trusts you to connect them. When it clicks, it's genuinely rewarding.

It's on the shorter side, maybe five or six hours, but every scene feels deliberate. We finished it in two sittings and immediately wanted more from the same team.
